Christmas trees December 06, 2007
This seems like a good time to blog on evergreens. Last month Steve McKee gave a great program at Gorman Nature Center which sorted out the various conifers. Perhaps I will drag out my notes and shoot a few photos of the trees you are most likely to encounter.

These days, the most commonly seen Christmas tree must be the extremely hardy and durable Pinus fauxfolia. I have never been a huge fan of them, however our model- Gimbly Puff (yes, that is really his name) was enjoying this one immensely.

Perhaps I will be able to come up with some more suitable photos of evergreen trees, but until then... I will go for the cheep and easy out: a cute animal post. :) I have no shame.
